Adventures at the Dog Park

Murphy has been in desperate NEED of some quality time. So, Cam took him to our neighborhood dog park. (Problem number 1 Murphy needing attention and Cam was post call with lack of sleep) While at the dog park Cam was striking up casual conversation with another owner who took note of Cam's Jayhawk t-shirt. Apparently, this guy had grown up in Manhattan, Kansas. (This was problem number 2) Next, the guy asked Cam what kind of breed Murphy was. Cam, like always, hesitantly described Murphy was a cockapoo. The guy quickly replied,"I bet you feel real manly having a dog with a poo in his name." (This was problem number 3) As many of you know Murphy loves to chase tennis balls. In fact, he pretty much puts on a clinic for other dogs at the dog park. Not but 5 minutes from the conversation, Cam threw the ball and Murphy took off only to blast through another unsuspecting dog on his way to fetch the tennis ball. As Cam bent down to console/evaluate any ortho injuries to the other dog, he realized the dog belonged to the cockapoo hater. Cam couldn't help but laugh at the irony of the whole situation and everyone left the dog park in one piece (and at peace).

Lately, Murphy has had a difficult time adjusting to being #2 in our family. Often times he has been disciplined for his constant need of attention. But today, Murphy was number 1 in the Ledford home...Cam has never been more proud to have a raised a linebacker of a cockapoo.
