West Palm Beach

In mid September, while Cam was slaving away on night rotation, Conley and I headed down to West Palm Beach, Florida, to visit the Melhorn Family.  It was so fun to see where my good friend, Julie and her family lives.  Julie's son, Jacob, and Conley had a great time playing together.  We were so busy with the boys that we didn't take many pictures.  

Conley's Name

Where did Conley's name come from? 

Like every soon-to-be parents picking a baby name was difficult for us.  I will never forget the first time I heard the name Conley.  I was in the hospital over New Year's Eve 2010 due to high blood pressure and kidney issues. My Aunt Jana called to check on me.  Throughout the conversation she was telling me about her day and taking my cousin Brett and his friend, Conley, to get their drivers licenses.  I thought to myself....that's a cute name.  I asked my Aunt where the name came from and she informed me Conley is the boy's mother's maiden name.  I told Cam about the name and he loved it and the rest was history.  

While in Kansas my Conley and I were visiting my Aunt Jana and the original Conley came over to hang with my cousin.  So, of course, I had to get my Conley's picture with the original Conley.

While in Kansas, we had family pictures taken.  Cam and Conley were such great troopers considering it was 115 degrees outside.  I love these pictures because I think it captures Conley's little ornery personality. 

Our Best Friend's Wedding

Ok, so I am so very far behind over the next week I am going to try and catch up.  

In August, we traveled back to Kansas for our best friend's wedding, Alex Westerman.  Cam and Alex have been friends since 6th grade when Cam moved back to Wichita and started attending Maize.  I met Alex in 7th grade through Cam.  Over the years Alex has supported us through the good and bad times.  We are so blessed to have such a loyal friend. So, happy for Alex and his beautiful Bride, Ashley!!

HOORAY!!! We survived year one of Cam's orthopedic residency program!! I can't believe we made it out alive.

Here are some of Cam's statics for the season aka year:

• 98 out of 365 nights he spent at the hospital
• 6 out of 52 weekends off (meaning Saturday and Sunday) OUCH!

We are praying that Cam's schedule is better this year but at the same time I am not going to hold my breath.  Since Cam is a 2nd year resident he graduated to a long white coach which we like to call the gun slinger.

Grammy Kim, Uncle John, and Cousin Madison visits NC (end of July)

Still so far behind..... We had so much fun with Grammy Kim, Uncle John, and Madison!! We ate at some of our favorite places and toured Duke and UNC.  Thanks for visiting!!!

18 months old (July 27th)

Conley is 18 months old today!! I can't even believe that he is a year and a half old.  He is at such a fun age.  Each day I can't believe how much he is learning and growing.  Conley loves to climb on anything and everything. I can't turn my back for a second and he is standing on our kitchen table. (Ok, that only happened one time and I got smart by making sure the chairs are pushed in at all times.) He is starting to learn new words. Some of his favorites are hi, moo, up, ut oh, and no (while pointing his finger). Below are some new pictures of Conley from the last couple of days:
